Domestic Bliss

I've rather enjoyed the freedom of not working. It has given me more time for reading, learning how to manage a grocery run, being home when Steve gets off work, meeting Steve for workouts on his lunch breaks, and baking!

I'm not the best cook, there is a difference between those who bake and those who cook. I'm working on the cooking part. Since my enthusiasm for baking led Steve to tell me "no more cookies for a while," and I decided to branch out and attempt bread. Here are a few pictures to show my first go at baking Challah or Egg Bread. Challah is of Jewish origin but my bread was not kosher, bring on the eggs and dairy!
Getting everything together

The dough rising

Rolling the dough out

The finished product, yummy :)

Not bad for my first attempt. I've since found another recipe for this bread that is a little sweeter and I'm looking forward to trying in out soon. For those of you who are wondering, yes I do plan on working...eventually :)

  1. That is quite the bread loaf! It looks like something I might pick up at the g-store. Way to go Abby!
