Today marks 3 months of wonderful marriage and our list of new experiences together has grown exponentially in the last few weeks. Last Wednesday (Sept 30th) we went through our second surgery together. September just hasn't been our month. It started with my oral surgery for wisdom teeth removal and the month ended with Steve's ankle surgery.
Portsmouth Naval Hospital were Steve had his surgery
We arrived at 1030 am but Steve didn't have surgery until 330 pm. It was a long day of waiting-waiting with Steve, waiting during surgery, and waiting until he came out of the recovery room. Because he didn't come out of surgery until 430 pm he was admitted for the night. I wasn't allowed to spend the night so it was our first night spent apart :( Thursday, after 3 doses of antibiotics to fight off any infection, he was released at 330 pm. Steve is keeping his foot elevated and we're enjoying the time together.
Standard shower gear :)
September hasn't been all bad experiences. On the 21st we celebrated Steve's 26th Birthday and we've been able to enjoy having several out of town guests including my mom and our friend Melissa Turner from Pittsburgh. We are hoping that this will be the last time we have to spend time in a hospital until babies come along (which won't be for a while).
