Steve and I started this process more than 6 weeks ago. We decided that we wanted to add a dog to our family. We searched every SPCA in the Hampton Roads area. We both really wanted to adopt and give a stray dog a new lease on life. Sadly we couldn't find a match. So we started looking into purebreds and found the Shiba Inu. Funny little dogs with BIG personalities. The Shiba is one of the oldest Japanese breeds and its name means Brushwood (Shiba) Dog (Inu). Finding the breed led to a breeder and then pictures of babies. Samson stole our heart from the beginning. Steve tells everyone we're doing a trial run before kids :)

He's so cute! Can't wait for him to come and meet the "cousins" and probably pee on a rug.... :) Ah- I remember the days of puppies. I know you're having great fun. Mom
